You Make All Things New
Exploring the Art of Songwriting
This year at church, we are exploring the theme “All Things New,” and it inspired me to write something. I had a bit of fun experimenting with different musical styles on Suno. Let me know your thoughts.1
[Verse 1]
You spoke, and all things came to be,
Beautiful, glorious by design,
In Adam all have fallen, died,
Our hearts are stone, our eyes are blind
[Verse 2]
“Forget the former things,” You say,
“Nor dwell upon the things of old”
This promised mercy came in Christ
He died and gave us hearts and sight
[Chorus]
His faithful word is always true,
We’re held within His wounded hands
You make all things new
You make all things new
[Verse 3]
The cross stood where our hope had failed,
The earth shook dark, the heavens tore
The third day came, He conquered death
In Christ all rise forevermore
[Verse 4]
If anyone is found in Christ,
The old has passed; behold, the new!
No longer bound by death or shame,
In Christ, we live our whole life through
[Chorus]
His faithful word is always true,
We’re held within His wounded hands
You make all things new
You make all things new
[Bridge]
I’ll dwell with them, our Father says,
And wipe away each tearful eye
No death, no grief, no pain remains
The former things will fade and die
[Final Chorus]
His faithful word is always true,
We’re held within His wounded hands
The old has passed; the new has come
We praise the God who makes us new
You make all things new
You make all things new
You make all things new
You make all things new
All versions made with Suno were just for fun. Let me know which one you like best

A note on the music: I love collaborating with musicians; they bring God’s gifts to the process, but my current role limits those opportunities, so for now I’ve used Suno to hear how these words might sound. There is no substitute for gifted musicians.

You need to be of a certain generation to appreciate the breakbeat funk version
